Let me get one thing straight though… Even if Bucky didn’t have innervation in his arm (aka he couldn’t feel anything other than just pressure, ergo couldn’t feel the arm being blown off) he most definitely felt the searing hot metal that was attached to his fucking shoulder. The metal was glowing red hot where it got blown off. Like if you leave the end of a spoon over an open flame and then grab the other end you still burn the shit out of your hand. So imagine your entire shoulder/biceps is made out of metal and the end of it is so hot that it’s glowing red. You don’t think the skin and bone and muscle it’s attached to wont be burning? Like imagine hot metal touching your bones. Bone pain is literally some of the worst kind of pain you can feel and Bucky had searing hot metal attached to his bones. And beyond that it’s still burning his skin, his ligaments, and his muscles. It’s beyond just burning your hand on a hot object because the metal is integrated into his shoulder. And worst of all he can’t get the thing off. He can’t drop the hot spoon because it’s part of him.

So yeah tell me again that Bucky wasn’t in excruciating pain after that

Also! Theres no way he could do 90% of the shit he does with that arm if it wasn’t anchored well beyond what we can see, there has to be metal extending farther under the skin. So that shit would be heated up much deeper than just his shoulder, probably as far as the middle of his chest. Hell, he was probably lucky his heart didn’t get cooked. And imagine having metal near (possibly over) your lungs being super heated.

Plus, its not a magic psychic arm, you can’t just pop on a fabricated limb and move is like he does. Its got to have some sort of cybernetic attachment to the brain (people have pointed out the blood coming from his nose/mouth isnt present before the arm comes off, and is consistent with having something connected to your brain fucked right the hell up). I don’t know how any of that shit would work, but if its wiring thats in any way metal.

Really, it wasn’t just ‘losing his arm’ or even just excruciating pain. With the metal probably over vital organs being super heated, and that shit being attached to his brain, its a miracle he survived.

also, there is a good chance there was much more of his physical arm than what we see in the end of the movie.

in one of bucky’s flashbacks, where he is being dragged to the labs after the fall, we see his arm from his POV & by the looks of it, it actually got cut off just above the elbow, leaving most of his upper arm intact. with how ungodly heavy that metal arm was & because it needed so much body to anchor too (again just look at how heavily anchored to his shoulder it is), plus more nerve endings to connect too which would likely produce better results.

so i’m pretty sure hydra probably didn’t cut off that much of his arm. they would only need to further amputate whatever was infected/frost bit, if at all. his arm was still bleeding & he obviously hadn’t died of exsanguination yet plus in what is probably below freezing weather, his arm probably hadn’t had time to get infected. at most they probably amputated the dead flesh leaving him with most of his arm intact.

it would also explain why the bicep of his metal arm is so much larger than his real arm, where as the rest of his metal arm is actually rather proportional with his real arm & his body. it’s because it’s actually built on top of his remaining arm & instead of just a metal support.

byt then when tony blasts his arm off, it clearly goes well up his bicep, to the point where later on it either just ended there or it had to be amputated even further up his arm. which means that, if any of this is correct, tony likely blew off what little remained of bucky’s arm under the prosthetic.

Bucky was never a man who enjoyed early mornings; even in the 1940s, he hated waking up just as the sun was rising, it reminded him of the long days that had even longer nights. But when he met you, he began to love those early morning sunrises.

He loved seeing the light glow of the seven am sun on your soft skin, watching as your chest rose and fell with every breath, the sun dancing on it as if it were the oceans horizon.

Bucky always woke up before you, his body still adjusting to his new way of life; the life where he wasn’t woken up at five am to head out into the trenches or woken up by his own screams. He was adjusting slowly but surely, all because of you.

The soldier laid on his left side, his metal arm propping up his head as he ran his flesh fingers down your bare back; the feel of your skin against his never failed to make him feel at home. such a simple act brought him so much happiness.

Bucky smiled to himself as he watched you stir, your head turning to face him as you remained asleep.

The sun continued to rise as Bucky admired your sleeping form, your lips pouted slightly and your eyebrows creased as you slept. He couldn’t help but smile again, moving his hand from your back to gently stroke the crease between your eyebrows with his thumb; he knew you hated frowning, claiming it’d give you premature wrinkles and make you look ‘nearly as old as him’.

“Quit staring, it’s creepy.” You mumbled as you relaxed into Bucky’s touch, your eyes remained closed but you knew bucky would be grinning.

“Can’t help it doll, you always look so angelic in the morning sun.” He whispered softly, his hand moving to brush your bed hair away from your face.

“Who knew the big bad soldier is actually a giant teddy bear.” You smiled as your eyes fluttered open, your heart leaping into your throat as you admired Bucky; his body blocked your eyes from the sun but his form was accentuated by the light, a soft glow resonating around him as you looked to him.

Bucky couldn’t help but smile again.

“You definitely knew that doll.” You nodded gently in agreement and turned over, now lying on your right side. Pulling the sheets up to your chest, sighing contently as you looked to Bucky again.

“If I told you that this was my favourite time of day, would you believe me?” You asked quietly as your fingers combed through his dark hair. He nodded, closing his eyes and leaning into your touch.

“Mornings with you are my favourite part of each day.” He sighed, his eyes opening as you gently danced your fingers along the stubble on his jaw.

You couldn’t help the grin that tugged on your lips as you gently pulled the soldier down to you, his lips grazing over yours ever so slightly.

“You have morning breath, Buck.” You teased in a whisper, causing him to let out a hearty laugh.

“So do you, but you don’t see me complaining.” He teased back before kissing you fully, his right hand moving to hold your cheek as you held him close.

“Good morning sunshine.” he smiled, pecking your lips once more.
